Welcome Back Fund

We are pleased that Wem Town Council have received Welcome Back Fund funding from the ERDF*. This money has been used to

  • Deep clean the High Street and Drawwell Walk,
  • Provide Christmas Lights down Leek Street
  • Purchase gazebos and a storage unit  for use at Wem Markets and events
  • Purchase a new events noticeboard
  • Give the bins, bollards and benches in the town centre a much needed lick of paint

Mayor of Wem, Peter Broomhall said We are very fortunate to have received these funds which has enabled us to make  improvements to the town centre for residents and visitors.

*The Welcome Back Fund (Councils across England are to share£56m of ERDF funding to support the return to high streets safely and help build back better from the pandemic):
