  1. To note apologies for absence received
  2. Disclosure of Pecuniary Interests

    a) To receive any disclosure of pecuniary interest - Members are reminded that they must not participate in the discussion or voting on any matter in which they have a Disclosable Pecuniary Interest and should leave the room prior to the commencement of the debate.

    b) To consider any applications for Dispensations under s33 of the Localism Act 2011.

  3. Public Participation

    a period of 15 minutes will be set aside for residents of Wem Town to speak.

  4. Planning

    a) to consider the following planning applications

    i) 24/02661/OUT Address:  Proposed Commercial Development Land To The North Of, Shawbury Road, Wem

    Proposal:  Hybrid application for outline permission for Class E commercial, business and service, Class B2 general industrial and Class B8 warehousing uses, together with dedicated emergency vehicular and pedestrian access, drainage infrastructure and landscaping and full permission for hauliers yard with new road junction, access road with footways and drainage infrastructure

    ii) 24/02757/FUL Address: Land West Of Overfields Farm, Ellesmere Road, Wem, SY4 5TU

    Proposal:  Improvements to existing access for agricultural and equestrian land, existing livery yard premises, together with provision of livery parking, and associated works ways and drainage infrastructure

    iii) 24/02854/TCA.  Address:  Sunningdale, 9 Mill Street, Wem, Shropshire, SY4 5ED

    Proposal:  Fell 2no. Lawson Cypress (T1 and G1) within Wem Conservation Area

    iv) 24/03028/FUL. Address: Cotswold House, 9 Sycamore Drive, Wem.

    Proposal: Erection of attached domestic garage/store

    v) 24/03029/FUL. Address: Proposed Dwelling Adjacent 9 Sycamore Drive, Wem

    Proposal: Erection of 1No dwelling ito include access and amenity space

    vi) 24/03076/VAR. Address: Connexus, Edinburgh House, New Street, Wem

    Proposal: Removal of Condition No. 15 attached to appeal decision APP/L3245/W/23/3323422 dated 24/01/2024 to allow permitted development rights in relation to use of existing second floor office accommodation

    vii) 24/03186/FUL Address Cornerways, 40 Mill Street, Wem, Shrewsbury, Shropshire - Proposal new single storey dwelling and new vehicular access.

    b) Local Plan Review Hearings

    to decide whether the Town Council wishes to participate at the hearings and if so to select councillors to attend and agree that they will be representing

    c) Place Plan Review – to consider correspondence from Shropshire Council

  5. Shropshire Council Consultations – to consider

    a) Town and Parish Council Survey

    b) Nature Recovery Survey 

  6. Finance and Accounts for Payment.

     Accounts for payment - to approve accounts for payment (presented at meeting).

  7. CCTV Contract -

    to consider a 12 month extension of the CCTV Maintenance Contract

The Town Council meets on the last Thursday of every month except December at 7.00 p.m in the Meeting Room, Wem Library High Street  Wem.
The Town Council meeting starts with Public Question time and residents can attend and raise issues with the members.
A copy of the agenda for these meetings is displayed on the notice board outside the Town Hall, High Street and on this website.
