Wem VE Day Anniversary Celebrations 8th May 2020

This year, Friday 8 May is the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day.

VE Day marked an end to six years of German involvement in World War II, and in towns and cities across the world people marked the victory with street parties, dancing and singing.

Whilst we have had to cancel the event planned for Wem we’d love you to re-create that war-time spirit in your own homes.

Make and share food together, create and put up decorations, dress up, dance, sing and celebrate!

Combat Stress have developed a Virtual VE Day 75 ‘Celebrate at Home’ Party Pack, which includes: ideas for wartime rationing party food, 1940’s decorations, songs, dances, and hair and fashion of the era to help you have a brilliant 1940’s inspired day (and night)!

Visit the website below to sign up for a pack and please remember to share your pictures of your stay at home celebration we would love to see them!
